横井一仁氏は、日立アカデミーのソフトウェアエンジニア兼インストラクタです。 日立製作所の横浜研究所、中央研究所で研究員としてキャリアをスタートさせました。その後、オープンソースソフトウェア事業部に異動し、OSSビジネスの推進と開発者コミュニティへの貢献に尽力しました。同事業部では、JavaScript分野のOSSを扱うOpenJS Foundation傘下のプロジェクトに300件以上のコミットと1万行以上のコードを追加しました。 現在は、富士通、三菱電機などの日本を代表する企業と共に、AI関連のOSSプロジェクトをホストするLF AI & Data Foundationのコミュニティイベントの企画運営に注力しています。日立アカデミーでは、ChatGPTサービスのセミナーを開催しているほか、世界のエンジニアが技術力を競う技能五輪国際大会の日本代表選手への技術研修を行っています。

Training as a Bridge: Bringing Technical Knowledge into Large Companies

Bringing state-of-the-art technology into traditional Japanese companies is sometimes challenging due to their siloed organizational structures and closed cultures. To overcome this situation, we have the corporate training company to deliver training programs to Hitachi employees. In this session, I will explain how to expand technical knowledge within large companies through the process of planning, conducting, and evaluating training seminars. Through these training seminars, not only seminar participants but also instructors benefit by gaining new business opportunities suggested by participants who are key stakeholders in their field. As the notable examples, I will introduce the transition from an OSS training seminar to practical training for WorldSkills competition, and the expansion of a ChatGPT seminar into a global program across the Hitachi Group. By the end of my presentation, you will be inspired by this new approach to breaking down the barriers of traditional Japanese companies and bringing in great technologies.
